Ramones - Greatest Hits album download

Hey Ho Let's Go: Greatest Hits is a 2006 compilation album by the punk rock band Ramones. It was issued one year after the box set Weird Tales of the Ramones, and four years after the single-disc collection Loud, Fast Ramones: Their Toughest Hits. The album features songs by the group that were recorded between 1976 and 1989, but does not include any material from Animal Boy (1986) or Halfway to Sanity (1987).

The Anthology - Rhino's 2006 collection Greatest Hits serves up 20 of the group's basics.

They make no attempt to play new material or reinterpret their older material, they just churn it out to please the crowd. The Ramones' Greatest Hits Live is no exception to the rule. The world's first punk band acts like an oldies act, trotting out their classics ("Blitzkrieg Bop," "I Wanna Be Sedated," et. with an astonishing lack of interest or energy - they really sound like a relic, not a once-revolutionary force.

I've noticed that something very ironic has happened with these guys: people have begun to almost complain about the number of greatest hits collections that they have released in past years. Thats kind of funny, since the Ramones hardly sold anything during their 19 year career. But all the same, I definitely recomend this CD to everyone: from avid fans to curious new listeners alike. So pick which you like, and read on. This album kicks.

So, how is "Greatest Hits Live" as an album? It honestly feels like a cheap cash-in, or maybe something cranked out to fill a contract. For one thing, the title is "Greatest Hits Live" which is not only painfully generic, its also oblivious to the fact that the Ramones didn't really have any hits. And if it is a "Greatest Hits" setlist, why is crap like "Cretin Family" on here? Next is the album artwork which is a bunch of grainy, low-quality stills from the "Spider-Man" music video

I've got their first 10 albums on vinyl plus a half a dozen others on CD. Their music was so simple, yet so inspiring & uplifting. I managed to see them at Lallapalooza '96 I think it was, before they broke up & then died off. Thank you Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, Tommy, Marky, Richie & the others for over 30 years of fantastic music. 글 답글 1개 보기 나에게 알림 Helpful.

A greatest hits album, sometimes called a "best of" album or a catalog album, is a compilation of songs by a particular artist or band. Most often the track list contains previously released recordings with a high degree of notability. However, to increase the appeal, especially to people who already own the original release, it is common to include remixes or alternate takes of popular songs; sometimes even new material (previously unreleased) will function as bonus tracks.
